Kurzhupov's revenue house

вул. Поштова, 31, Запоріжжя

Revenue house of the merchant Ivan Kurzhupov was built according to the project of the district technician Aleseev during 1906-1908. The two-story building was made of dark red bricks.

In 1913, a two-story wing was built in the courtyard, which housed classrooms, a carpentry workshop, an office, a museum, and a library of the Teacher seminary. It was precisely for this purpose that the city rented most of the premises from Kurzhupov from the moment of the building's completion.

In addition, the cinema "Coliseum" - one of the most popular in the city - was also located in the building.

During World War I, in 1915, 600 soldiers were accommodated on the second floor of the wing, and in the spring of 1917 - 300 Serbian lower-ranking officers and captured Austrian soldiers.
